Wellington Claims Important Road Win Over Franklin
The Mills Albert Wellington Saints continued their strong form on Sunday, claiming an 81-67 victory over the Franklin Bulls on the road.
Despite being without leading scorer Elijah Pepper, the Saints delivered a disciplined team performance built on defensive intensity and balanced scoring. Wellington set the tone early, limiting the Bulls to just 10 first-quarter points while establishing a 21-10 advantage after the opening period.
The Saints maintained control throughout the contest, consistently finding answers whenever Franklin threatened to close the gap. The Bulls found some offensive rhythm in the second half through import guard Derrin Boyd, who finished with a game-high 23 points, but Wellington's defence and composure ensured the visitors remained in front for the entirety of the contest.
Jordan Hunt led the Saints offensively with 18 points, six rebounds and five assists in an all-around performance. Izayah Le'afa once again controlled the game at both ends, finishing with 14 points, 10 assists, five rebounds and two steals, while Donte Ingram added 14 points.
The victory marks another important result for the Saints as they continue to build momentum heading into the closing stages of the regular season.

The Mills Albert Pathways Wellington Saints suffered a narrow 41-38 overtime loss to the Oilhub.com Franklin Bulls in a hard-fought Rapid League contest.
Aubrey Chunga opened the scoring with an emphatic dunk as the Saints made a strong start, shooting efficiently and matching the Bulls throughout a tightly contested game. The teams were locked at 11-11 after the opening quarter, and neither side was able to create separation as the contest remained evenly balanced through the middle periods.
The Saints carried a slim advantage into the closing moments of regulation and looked on track to secure the win before Franklin converted crucial free throws in the final seconds to force overtime.
In the extra period, the Bulls found the decisive basket from beyond the arc and held on during the final possession to edge out Wellington in a game that could have gone either way.
