Welcome Back Rising Star Tyrael-Cage Heke for 2025 Season

The Mills Albert Wellington Saints are thrilled to announce the return of promising young forward Tyrael-Cage Heke for the 2025 New Zealand National Basketball League season. Standing at 6 feet 9 inches, Heke has recently honed his skills at Baton Rouge Community College in Louisiana, USA.

Expressing his enthusiasm about rejoining the Saints, Heke stated,

"I'm really excited to be back in a Saints singlet for the '25 season. After spending a year at school in the States, I'm looking forward to continuing my growth this season surrounded by some of NZ's best. From players to coaches to front office to fans, it was a no-brainer. Great opportunity this season for me to be a sponge amongst it all and take those learnings with me when I return back to school."

General Manager Jordan Mills has observed significant development in Heke's game during the offseason, noting,

"Ty has made some really big improvements in his game this offseason, shooting the ball well and also his ability to put it on the floor as a big. Recently turned 21, he has a big future ahead of him."

The Saints are set to kick off their 2025 season with a home game against the Taranaki Airs on Sunday, March 16th, at TSB Arena, with tip-off scheduled for 2:00 PM.

Tickets for the season opener are now available and can be purchased through Ticketmaster here

Fans are encouraged to secure their seats early to witness the return of Tyrael-Cage Heke and support the Saints as they embark on their quest for their 13th championship title.
