Saints Soar To Dominant Win Over Jets In Front Of Home Crowd

The Mills Albert Wellington Saints delivered a commanding performance at TSB Arena last night, cruising to a 108–61 victory over the Property Brokers Manawatū Jets in a statement win that showcased their depth, energy, and defensive firepower.

Izayah Le’Afa led the charge with 18 points and an impressive 4 blocks, while Nicholas Marshall added 18 points and 7 rebounds in a balanced offensive display. Every player on the Saints roster got on the scoreboard, underscoring the team’s cohesion and unselfish play.

The night also marked a warm homecoming for fan favourites Jordan Ngatai and Sam Gold, who were met with loud cheers as they returned to the court in Saints colours. Both brought their trademark hustle and experience, further fueling the Saints' dominant showing.

Despite a tough night for the Jets, Dontae Russo-Nance stood out with a double-double (18 points, 10 rebounds), and Miles Gibson chipped in 17 points and 4 boards.

With this win, the Saints improve their record and build crucial momentum ahead of next weekend’s road trip, where they’ll face the Tauranga Whai and Auckland Tuatara.

The team then makes a historic return to Porirua on Friday, 31 May, marking their first game there in a decade. Fans can expect a special night as the Saints bring top-tier basketball back to the heart of the community.
