Saints Fall to Hawks, Eye Bounce-Back in New Plymouth
The Mills Albert Wellington Saints fought hard but couldn't overcome the Big Barrel Hawks yesterday afternoon at TSB Arena, falling 87–75 in front of a passionate home crowd.
Nick Marshall put on a strong performance for the Saints, leading the way with 26 points, 14 rebounds, and 3 assists. Hyrum Harris also delivered a gritty effort, finishing with 10 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assists. Despite patches of good momentum, the Hawks' size and execution down the stretch proved too much to overcome.
For the visitors, Wani Swaka Lo Buluk led the scoring with 24 points and 7 rebounds, while Luca Yates was dominant on the boards, collecting a game-high 20 rebounds to go with 14 points and 6 assists.
The Saints will regroup quickly, with a big week of training ahead as preparations begin for this Saturday's clash against the Taranaki Airs in New Plymouth. With the season heating up, every game is crucial, and the team is determined to deliver a strong response on the road.
Thank you again to Saints Family for the incredible support — we'll be working hard this week to make you proud.
