Our first import joins the squad for 2023

A huge KIA ORA to our first import for 2023, South East Melbourne Phoniex star and current Australian Boomer Kyle Adnam to The Wellington Saints.

Adnam began his Australian NBL career as a development player at Adelaide in 2014, before shifting clubs and becoming a fully rostered player at Melbourne United in 2018 while winning the NBL Championship. Adnam is in his third year with the Phoenix alongside Saints teammate Tohi Smith-Milner.

Coming fresh off two big wins this past week with the Boomers squad Kyle had the below to say:

“Excited to be a part of the Saints family, I absolutely love New Zealand and am looking forward to getting to work. I’ve had some trips to Wellington in the past and the city is super cool, and to be a part of such a storied franchise is a privilege”

Kyle played in the NZNBL before spending time with the Nelson Giants and was signed for the Saints in 2020, which never got off the ground due to the pandemic.

Kyle averaged a career-best 12 points last season – including a new career-high 28-points against the Wildcats - and finished third in the NBL Best Sixth Man award.

Saints GM Jordan Mills, is excited to get Kyle in the capital for 2023:

"Can't wait to get Kyle in Saints Blue this season, we speak every year about coming here, and as mentioned had him signed in 2020 so really excited to get him locked in. Fresh off playing for the Boomers in the recent FIBA window he will be in great shape and ready to lead us at the Point Guard position. Kyle loves his surfing too so hopefully will be at Lyall Bay beach catching some waves in his down time"

We look forward to having Kyle's experience and work ethic on our squad for 2023.
