Biography

Braydon Iuli arrives at the Wellington Saints as a proven playmaker whose journey through the American college system has continued to elevate his game year after year.

Originally from Tauranga, the 6’3” guard developed through Tauranga Boys’ College before earning opportunities in the United States collegiate ranks. After two seasons with Menlo College, where he established himself as one of the team’s primary creators, Iuli transferred to Lynn University and quickly made an impact in NCAA Division II basketball. A consistent starter, he built a reputation for his ability to control tempo, create for teammates and contribute across multiple areas of the game.

A pass-first guard by nature, Iuli’s leadership and basketball IQ have been defining traits throughout his career. Comfortable running an offence, he combines strong court vision with patience and composure, allowing him to consistently put teammates in positions to succeed. Alongside his playmaking, his size and physicality at the guard position provide value on both ends of the floor.

Throughout his college career, Iuli has shown an ability to impact winning through more than scoring alone. His rebounding, defensive activity and willingness to make the right play have made him a reliable presence in high-level competitive environments. Those qualities were reflected during his time at Menlo, where he led the team in assists and steals while helping guide the program to postseason contention.

Iuli’s maturity, professionalism and team-first mindset align strongly with the culture the Saints continue to build. Having already experienced multiple levels of collegiate basketball, he arrives in Wellington with valuable experience and a well-rounded understanding of the game.

Entering the upcoming season, Iuli brings a blend of leadership, toughness and proven playmaking ability, an exciting addition capable of making an immediate impact within the Saints system.
