In Round 9 NZCT National Basketball League action tonight ecogise Nelson Giants have beaten the Devon Dynamos Taranaki 91-64 in Nelson, 0800 Easy LPG Hawks have gone down to the Waikato Pistons 66-86 in Napier and the have been beaten 92-76 by the Bartercard Christchurch Cougars in Auckland.

Saints got off to a quick start jumping out to an early 17-6 lead with numerous transition baskets, and they were never threatened for the remainder. The margin was a comfortable 20 at halftime at 50-30.

ecogise Nelson Giants will travel up North to play the double playing Youthtown Auckland Stars on Thursday and then the Appliance Shed Harbour Heat on Friday. The Giants have had recent success against the Stars beating them both times last year, but this will be a desperate Stars team who need to start beating teams in the top 6 if they have a chance of making the playoffs.
