Saints Defeat Giants in Blenheim 15 Apr 2013

The Saints have ended their pre-season nicely with a 82-77 win over the Nelson Giants at Stadium 2000, Blenheim

Lindsay Tait and Andrew Warren shared game high honours with 23 points, but collectively the team played good basketball against the Giants who had star player Josh Pace, Phill Jones and former Saint Erron Maxey.

It was the second quarter which was the difference as the Saints outscored Nelson 32-25. Giants did claw their way back into the contest, closing to within two after down as many as 16.

But the Saints managed to hold off Nelson, in front of a very enthusiastic 800 Blenheim crowd.

Wellington Saints 82 (Andrew Warren 23, Lindsay Tait 23, Casey Frank 12) Nelson Giants 77 (Josh Pace 23, Phill Jones 15, Erron Maxey 13)
