Coaching In Schools Program

The Wellington Saints are proud to support the development of youth basketball in New Zealand by bringing FREE, high-quality basketball skills training into schools in the greater Wellington Region. Students involved in the coaching program will have the opportunity to work with top performing NBL athletes in a series of training sessions that promote: fundamental basketball skills, teamwork, leadership, and FUN! This programme is fully accredited to Basketball New Zealand.

Tickets in Schools

The Wellington Saints, partnered with Railway Metro New World and Mother Earth, will provide 800 tickets for each regular season home game to a number of schools in the greater Wellington Region. The Tickets in Schools program provides a unique opportunity for students to attend a professional sporting event with their families at no cost of their own. This year, the Tickets in Schools and Coaching in Schools programs will join forces to bring a comprehensive basketball experience to youth from the court to the stands! Wellington Children’s Hospital

Wellington Children’s Hospital is the Official Charity of the Wellington Saints. Throughout the Season the Saints players will visit with the children and staff at the hospital to distribute posters, prizes, game tickets, and more! Epuni Care and Protection

The Epuni Care and Protection Residence is a residential service that provides care and a safe environment for some of Wellington’s most challenging and vulnerable young people. The ultimate goal of Epuni is to provide young people who come to the residence with the best possible opportunities to turn their lives around. During the 2013, 2014 & 2015 Bartercard NBL Season, members of the Saints team will visit the Epuni Residence once per week to engage in fun, positive activities with the children and to administer on-site basketball skills programs. The Saints are excited to partner with the Epuni Residence in helping to make a difference in the lives of Wellington’s most at-risk youth.
